These three essays show my progression from freshmen year to the present. They catalogue the transformation of writing for a checklist to writing for myself.

 

The essays on the Odyssey and the Russian Revolution are classic examples of how objective driven I was at the time. They are prime examples of academic papers written for a grade with a very short term focus.

 

Why I Write takes place later during Junior Year. It's a great reflecting essay on how far I've come in my writing, both technically and personally. 

 

These three pieces together present an image of my progression and help to support the arguments I make in my Developmental Essay. 

 

From someone who was truly very materialistically driven and goal oriented, I've taken a step back to find what really adds value for me as a person and how I want to grow as an individual.
