CAPSTONE PROJECT

The Minor in Writing provides us an excellent opportunity to create a Capstone Project, a culmination of sorts of the writing that we've done so far. For me, it represents a foray into an area I have always loved to engage with, but never produced.

There are two passion areas for me as it pertains to this project:

1. I love fiction and I love short stories, but I have never created any of my own.

2. I have also become engrossed with this idea of reflection and valuing the present.

And so, I have put these two passions together to create a series of short stories that explore the idea of living for the big picture and picking out the experiences that really matter rather than getting caught up in all the details that are so irrelevant and miniscule when taken in perspective.

But aside from just creating my own story, I wanted to learn more about the short story genre. Sometimes underappreciated and underrepresented, I wanted to create a platform for those who are interested in perhaps creating their own stories--and so another website was born. On this site you can see the authors who have inspired me, the history of the genre, and helpful tips I've picked up along the way.

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.
